Workflow for Creating RT Sheets: 10 Stages to get 20 sheets on shelves / リーディングシートがカフェの本棚に並ぶまでにすること

Reading Sheets are hard to make as they are both physical and digital. There are 10 stages to creating a set of reading sheets, each stage may be done by a different person so good communication is necessary. A set of 20 sheets takes about 4 hours labour, or about 12~15 mins per sheet. / リーディングシートは1セット20枚です。1セットがカフェの本棚に並ぶまで、約4時間の作業が必要です。

  1. Stage 1 : teacher makes a booklets of 20 sheets + data table, usually 90~120 mins. / 講師が1セット20枚＋マスターシート(データテーブル)を作成します。
  2. Stage 2 : 1D barcodes are added to sheets 1~20 from the data on page1 datatable e.g. 577-8117-18 (20 mins) (see below) / シートの右下にバーコードを足します。（作り方は下記参照）
  3. Stage 3 : 2D barcodes are added to sheets 1~20 from the data on page1 datatable e.g. http://readingtree.net/rt_sheets_kids/577-8117-18 (20 mins) (see below) / シートの右下にQRコードを足します。（作り方は下記参照）
  4. Stage 4 : Sheets are checked for errors, 20-page PDFs are created sent to ‘Gekiyasu’ printers (15 mins) (see below) / 間違いなどがないかを確認。PagesのデータをPDFに変換し、カラー冊子ドットコムでプリントしてもらいます。このときマスターシート(データテーブル)を印刷する必要はありません。
  5. Stage 5 : 20-page PDFs are split into 20 x jpg and 20 x PDF named according to sheet code (20 mins) (see below) / smallpdfのアプリを使い、マスターシート(データテーブル)以外の20枚を1枚ずつのPDFデータにします。1枚ずつPDFJPGのデータにします。この時、名前をそれぞれのシートの番号にしてください。
  6. Stage 6 :https://readingtree.net/datatables/create-rtsheet/ / RTシート作成フォームを使ってシートの入力を行います。
  7. Stage 7 : satge 5 のPDF、JPGのデータを所定のフォルダーに追加します。（やり方は下記参照）
  8. Stage 8 : Individual Quizzes are created using LearnDash LMS Quiz Templates. This generates 20 x Quiz embed codes. (30 mins) (see below) / LearnDash LMSで1枚ずつ、クイズの答えと点数を入力します。（やり方は下記参照）
  9. Stage 9 :Embed Codes from the Quizzes (from Stage 8) are added to the RT Sheet Custom Post pages (Stage 8) using copy-paste & Inline Edit (see below) / クイズのEmbed Codesを各シートに追加します。（やり方は下記参照）
  10. Stage 10 : Sheets are tested having come back from printers, laminated, and put on shelves. (20 mins) / カラー冊子ドットコムから印刷されたシートが戻ってきたら、ラミネートをして、カフェの本棚に並べましょう！

Stages 2 & 3: 1D & 2D barcodes are added to sheets 1~20 from booklet datatable (20 mins) / バーコードとQRコードの付け方

  1. To generate codes, use these links and copy-paste-match-style from the datatable in the booklet; / 下記URLよりバーコードとQRコードを作成し、copy-paste-match-styleで各ページに貼り付けます
  2. Bulk Generate code128 1D barcodes (download as png – download bulk as zip) : https://www.free-barcode-generator.net/code-128/ / バーコードを作成します。pngでまとめてダウンロードしましょう。
  3. Bulk Generate QR codes (2D barcodes) (download as png – download bulk as zip) : https://qrexplore.com/generate/　/ QRコードを作成します。pngでまとめてダウンロードしましょう。
  4. The code128 are just the sheet number, for example 487-4803-15. However, when the download, they download with a filename that has code-128_ at the front, for example code-128_487-4803-15. You need to delete the code-128_ part, for bulk use Findabetterrename. / バーコードはシートナンバーを入力して作成します。作成後、ダウンロードしたバーコードのタイトルをシートナンバーのみに変更します。
  5. The QR codes are a URL where https://readingtree.net/rt_sheets_kids/ is added to the sheet code. For example: https://readingtree.net/rt_sheets_kids/487-4803-15 / QRコードはシートナンバーの前に https://readingtree.net/rt_sheets_kids/を追加して作成してください。

Stage 5 & 6: 20-page PDFs are split into 20 x jpg and 20 x PDF named according to sheet code. / 20枚を1枚ずつのデータにし、JPGとPDFにする方法

  1. Export completed Pages booklet to pdf (Best quality) / pagesのデータをpdfに変換します。このとき、”最高”で変換してください。
  2. Open SmallPDF – or use online (password is on EPM) – https://smallpdf.com/  / smallpdfのアプリを使って、1で変換したPDFデータを1枚ずつに分割してください。
  3. Click “Spit PDF”　/ smallpdfの分割を選択し、1で変換したPDFデータをドラッグしてアップデートします。
  4. Click “Extract Every page to a PDF”　/ 1枚ずつに分割します。
  5. Download Zip / Zipでまとめてダウンロードします。
  6. Manually change the individual sheets names to the sheet name (e.g. page-3.pdf > 227-5651-18.pdf / シートの名前を227-5651-18.pdfのように、1枚ずつシートの番号にします。
  7. In SmallPDF, go to “PDF Converter.” Drag drop the PDF into the uploader. Click “to .jpg” / smallpdfのPDF to JPGを行います。1枚ずつにわけたPDFをドラッグしてアップデートし、jpgに変換します。
  8. Wait. Download the zip, unzip the zip. / JPGに変換したそれぞれのページをダウンロードします。
  9. Use Findabetterrename to get rid of the output.jpg (227-5658-18.output.jpg > 227-5658-18.jpg) Category: Text, Action: Replace text at end / ダウンロードしたjpgデータの名前をシートコードにします。
  10. Put all the files in the folder: https://readingtree.net/instructions/workflows-upload-rt-sheet-jpg-and-pdf/#elf_l1_Lw / 左のURLにあるPDFのフォルダーにPDFのデータを、JPGのフォルダーにJPGデータをアップロードします。

Stage 8 : Individual Quizzes are created using LearnDash LMS Quiz Templates. This generates 20 x Quiz embed codes. (30 mins) / LearnDash LMS Quiz Templates を使ってクイズの答えとポイントを入力する方法

    1. On the back end of readingtree.net, go to LearnDash » Quizzes. Right click and open in a new tab. /　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　 RTサイトのバックエンドで、LearnDash » Quizzesへ行く。
    2. Click “Add New” to create a new quiz. / “Add New”ボタンをクリックして、新しいクイズを作る。
    3. Click the “Settings” tab in the new quiz draft./ 新しいクイズ作成の下書きで、”Settings”タブをクリック。
    4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the “Quiz Templates” switch./ 一番下までスクロールして、”Quiz Templates”のスイッチをクリックする。
    5. Click on the “Search or select a template…” dropdown menu./ ドロップダウンメニューの”Search or select a template…”をクリック。
    6. Select “New RT Sheet Quiz 1.1”./ “New RT Sheet Quiz 1.1″を選ぶ。
    7. Click “load template”./ “load template” をクリックする。
    8. Once you are returned to the new quiz draft main screen, enter the title of the quiz. This should be the same as the RT Sheet Title / Code (example: 978-1913-18). Click “Publish”./ 作業中の新しいクイズ作成の下書き のメインスクリーン(Quiz page)に戻り、クイズのタイトルを記入する。このタイトルは、RTシートのコードと同じにする。（例978-1913-18）そのあと、”Publish”をクリック。
    9. Click the “Settings” tab again./ “Settings”タブを再びクリック。
    10. Click the “Restrict Quiz Retakes” switch if it isn’t already blue. Confirm that “Number of Retries Allowed” is set to zero. Click “Update”./ “Restrict Quiz Retakes”をクリック（もし、まだ青になっていなかったら。）。”Number of Retries Allowed”の数が０であることを確認する。”Update”./ “Restrict Quiz Retakes”をクリック。
    11. Go to LearnDash » Questions. Right click and open in a new tab./ LearnDash » Questionsにカーソルをあて、右クリックで新しいタブで開くを選ぶ。
    12. Click “Add New” to create a new question./ “Add New”をクリックし、新しい質問を作成する。
    13. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the “Select a Template to load” dropdown menu. / 画面下までスクロールダウンして、ドロップダウンメニューの”Select a Template to load”をクリックする。
    14. Select “New RT Sheet Quiz Question 1.1”./ “New RT Sheet Quiz Question 1.1″を選ぶ。
    15. Click “load template”./ “load template”をクリック。
    16. Enter the title of the question. This should be the same as the RT Sheet Title / Code plus the word “Question” (example: 978-1913-18 Question). Click “Publish”./ 質問のタイトルを入力する。このタイトルは、RTシートのタイトルと同じにし、その後に”Question”と付け加える。(例: 978-1913-18 Question)
    17. Select the correct answer and enter the correct number of points for the sheet as indicated on the data table of the booklet. Click “Update”./ RTシートのブックレット１枚目に記載されている、正解（A or B or C）を選び、ポイントを記入する。そのあと、”Update”
    18. Return to the newly made quiz and refresh the page. Click the “Builder” tab./ 先ほど新しく作ったクイズのページに戻り、ページをリフレッシュする。そして、”Builder” のタブを選ぶ。
    19. Find the question you have just made under the “Questions” section and click “Add”. You will not see the “Add” button until you mouse over the title of the question./ “Questions” のセクションから、今作成した質問を探して”Add”をクリック。マウスが質問タイトルの上に来ないと、”Add”ボタンが表示されないので注意。
    20. The question will now have been added to the quiz. Click “Update”, then click “Back to Quizzes”./ この状態では、まだ質問はクイズに追加されていないので、必ず”Update”をクリック。そして、
    21. Find the quiz you have just made in the list of quizzes. Under the “Shortcode” column, highlight the shortcode for the quiz (example:

       ). Right click and copy the shortcode./ クイズのリストの中から、今作成したクイズを探す。”Shortcode”のコラムの中で、そのクイズのショートコードをハイライトし、右クリックを押しコピーを選び、コピーする。

    23. Go to RT Sheets (kids). Right click and open in a new tab./ “RT Sheets (kids)”にカーソルをあて、右クリックを押し、新しいタブで開くを選ぶ。
    24. Click the “Inline Edit” switch if it isn’t already blue. Find the reading sheet for the quiz you have just made. Use the RT Sheet Title / Code to search for the reading sheet if necessary. Under the “Quiz Embed Code” column, click the pencil icon./ “Inline Edit”が青になっているのを確かめ、今作成したクイズのRTシートを探す。RTシートのタイトルやコードを”Search RT Sheets(Kids)”に入力して探したら良い。“Quiz Embed Code” のコラムの下にあるペンシルのアイコンをクリック。
    25. Right click in the white box that appears and paste the shortcode./ 開いた白いボックスの中で右クリックを押し、貼り付けを選び、先ほどコピーしたショートコードを貼り付ける。
    26. Click the check mark button (√)./ チェックマークをクリックする。
    27. The shortcode and quiz will now have been added to the sheet./ これにより、ショートコードとクイズがRTシートに貼り付けられました。
